Update on the Update
Here's a sneak preview of the next update where I've restructured the tile-set for easier auto-tiling and general use - and hopefully make things easier to manage as it continues to grow.
Outside of the restructuring, most of the visual changes are fairly subtle. There's some extra variations for the terrain transitions that gives everything a slightly more organic look while keeping the simplicity of the original tiles. The trees have a bit more variation in the edge tiles and I also reworked the snow biome trees for a more naturalistic look. There's also new alternate versions of some tiles for different biomes and lots of minor fixes and edits.
I've still got to rework the animated tiles and I'll be testing the tileset and doing fixes by reworking some of my existing promotional images. I'm aiming to get everything finished by the end of the month. In the meantime, here's a couple of example images showing how these changes look in practice (if you're having trouble spotting the differences, take a look at the trees in the first image and the subtle changes to the shore line in the second image!). There's also a template showing how the terrain types in the tileset have been arranged for corner based auto-tiling algorithms (you can see on this images where tiles that don't fit with an edge based algorithm are still included in the tileset for legacy support).

is there an ETA for the update?
I'm aiming for end of September / start of October.
The changes are subtle, but nice. I see some color changes, coastline, and the trees you called out. Looks good!
Thanks! The big changes are the way the tile-set is formatted and organised which will hopefully make it much easier to use (and easier for me to update in future).
